Based on extensive research and one-on-one interviews with more than 100 Hiring Managers and Recruiters, Filippo Carta has created a simple 3-step blueprint that anyone can use to build a CV that produces results. For the last decade he has been tackling the questions: What makes a curriculum effective? What make it fail? Are there any similarities in patterns among the successful CVs? What are the commonalities of the ones that have constantly failed? He translated those questions into the Strategic Curriculum Formula that has literally transformed the way curriculums are tactically built. Back in the old days, before he started teaching his groundbreaking Curriculum Formula, almost no one in the job-seeking world talked about it. But now, thousands of people are using his process to achieve professional and financial success.

Traders have a tendency to over-complicate. Many search for the latest new indicator that will give them an edge, or a new trading strategy to deliver bigger wins. The message of The Trading Playbook is to forget all of this and concentrate on three solid foundations to improve your trading performance:Simplicity - focus on price action alone.Probabilities - take trades where the odds are in your favour.Hard work and screen time - put in the effort to build up your trading experience.Hard work and screen time is down to the individual, but The Trading Playbook will guide you towards simplifying your trading and thinking in terms of probabilities.Michael Gouvalaris describes two straightforward trading plans that eschew complicated indicators and focus on probable outcomes. The first of these two plans - the day trading playbook - is based around ten different daily situations that can occur in the futures market. Between these ten daily setups, every single scenario is accounted for. The reader is shown how to determine what day type is in progress by studying that day's open and gap, and then high probability and low probability price action for each day type are given. Alongside the ten day types, the simple technical analysis tools of support and resistance and measuring market volatility are employed. The second trading plan - the swing trading playbook - describes effective ways to identify the trend, how to find ideal spots to enter trades in the direction of the trend, and also how to identify signals that warn of potential trend failure or reversals. Readers will learn simple and highly effective tools for spotting high probability entries and exits for trades. Again, basic technical analysis tools are employed, including measured moves, box theory and A-B-C waves. The key benefits of the two day trading and swing trading playbooks are that they give traders a well-defined plan to follow. This alleviates many of the big mistakes traders make, such as over-trading and cutting winners too early, or sitting in losing trades too long. If you are on the lookout for some trading ideas to simplify your analysis and refine your approach, The Playbook is for you.

By Marlietta Schock Although a lot of this information is on the world wide web, I like how Micheal lays it out and I don't have to do around hunting for it. I am a beginner and I love how he lays out his theories, and attributes them to professional sports players. His advice on risk management and the two things that plague investors really help me keep my wits about me while bidding on an asking price.Thank you for writing this all down and putting it in a book form a person can understand. It is clear, concise and easy to follow.

Robert Shaw is most celebrated today as the Oscar-nominated star in movies like From Russia with Love, A Man For All Seasons, The Sting and - most memorably of all - as Quint in the record-breaking Jaws. His breakthrough came when Hollywood was experiencing something of a British Invasion. Sean Connery, Peter O'Toole, Vanessa Redgrave and Richard Burton were among the new stars. But Shaw was arguably more talented than any, a figure of extraordinary and wide-ranging promise. More than just a mesmerising actor on stage and screen, he was also a gifted writer. He wrote no less than six published novels (winning the Hawthornden Prize), while his plays include the acclaimed Man in The Glass Booth. The flipside to Shaw's diverse abilities was his well-earned reputation as a hellraiser. A fiercely competitive man in all areas of his life, whether playing table tennis or drinking whisky, he emptied mini-bars, crashed Aston Martins, fathered nine children by three different women, made (and spent) a fortune, and set fire to Orson Welles' house. He died at 51, having driven himself too hard, too fast, but unable to get over his father's suicide when Shaw was just 11. John French, Shaw's biographer, knew him well, professionally and personally. Robert Shaw: The Price of Success is a perceptive, sympathetic, but unsparing portrait of the blessings and curses endowing this mercurial, enigmatic and deeply engaging man. This edition features a new foreword written by Richard Dreyfuss. Praise 'Both impressive and immaculate, a tremendously skilled biography... chillingly well told.' Sheridan Morley 'I liked Robert Shaw: The Price of Success tremendously, and applaud its digital rebirth.' Robert Sellers, author of Hellraisers and Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Sometimes interesting but VERY poorly written and edited By Jay M. Auritt Quite a disappointment. Although the book provides a good general overview of Robert Shaw's life and career, it skimps considerably over the parts of his life, particularly his acting roles, that would be of most interest to readers, while providing way too much attention and detail to his complicated financial and taxable-income situation, which I found highly confusing and boring. There are hardly any anecdotes provided in regards to his most notable film roles ("A Man for All Seasons", "The Sting") and absolutely none about the ill-fated filming of "Jaws" (Richard Dreyfuss, in a short forward to the book, provides more information than does the author). French almost completely ignores Shaw's one Oscar nomination (for "A Man for All Seasons"), not telling the reader whether or not Shaw even attended the Oscar ceremony or cared about the nomination, and ignoring the fact that Shaw lost the Oscar that year to Walter Matthau ("The Fortune Cookie") with whom he starred in "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" and, considering Shaw's incredibly competitive nature when it came to acting roles and billing, not conveying a word as to whether or not Shaw had any feelings about that one way or another during filming. In addition, the Kindle edition is FILLED with typos (I can only hope that they weren't included in the paper editions), even referring, not once but several times, to Robert Redford as Robert "Bedford". Mr. French also tells us that Mr. Shaw contributed the dialog for the well-known "USS Indianapolis" story in Jaws, but refers to it as the "USS Philadelphia". Enough said...I have many other complaints, but I think I'll leave it at that and let someone else take it from here.

Both books should be read, but unfortunately "More Than A Life" is very hard to find and quite dear when you do. I was lucky enough to get both books.French present Shaw warts and all, so to speak. The family disapproves of this book possibly because Shaw is presented as only an Agent can do. Actors often hide things from their families that they dump all over an agent. A trusted agent often becomes a kind of sounding board and the more wretched parts of an actor's personality is shown to him but not the family. The other book is also a good read, possibly "cleaned up" a bit as the author never met Shaw that I know of.French writes first hand, but puts himself in the third person so that the book isn't a litany of "I".A fascinating actor and a fascinating life, sadly often unfulfilled. He wanted the stars, reached for the galaxy and got merely part of the earth. He was determined to be A Star, a leading man, but he was not leading man material at that time. He simply wasn't "pretty" enough for the 60's and 70's male lead type. Today, however, he'd fit right in.What is not often known, is that Shaw was a very good writer. Possibly could have been Pulizer winning but he tended to sloth off on his writing.Like many good actors, he needed a strong "Director" to keep him on track. His life stopped at age 51 leaving one to wonder at what he could have accomplished if he had lived into older years and drawn on the wisdom that comes with mellowing. But between Spielberg and Shaw we have the one of the more fascinating characters on film - Quint.

6 of 9 people found the following review helpful. A good biography of the actor Robert Shaw By Alexander M. Moir This is a biography of the actor (Jaws, From Russia with Love, etc.), playwright, novelist and sometime singer Robert Shaw. Unfortunately, I got the last copy, but I recommend hunting this volume down if you're interested in Shaw. Highly underrated for most of his life, his work was truly art and his quirky personality makes for good storytelling, at which French more often than not succeeds. Fans of his acting will be surprised to find out some of the well-researched factoids about this jack-of-all-trades. The reader will be surprised at how well French demonstrates that Shaw's short life was exciting, yet nearly wasted. (There is another bio of Shaw, "Robert Shaw: More Than a Life" by Georg Gaston.)

The Book of the Damned, by Charles Fort

From the Back Cover The Book of the Damned has inspired scientists, science fiction writers, moviemakers, and devotees for almost a hundred years. About the Author Charles Fort's books include We Did Not Fear the Father: New and Selected Poems (Red Hen Press, 2012), MRS. BELLADONNA'S SUPPER CLUB WALTZ (The Backwaters Press, 2013), and The Town Clock Burning (Carnegie Mellon University Press, Classic Contemporary Series). 16 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Scepticism for starters: the trippy mind of Charles Fort By Takis Tz. Hailed as the man who kick-started modern day scepticism for the findings and conclusions of mainstream science, Charles Fort is actually a man who is paid more tribute now than ever before with the advent of alternative archaeology and science in general and with more and more people (researchers, scientists or not) actually doubting some of our more precious scientific dogmas. This book is a celebration of humor as well as scepticism, the humor part being the one which most people have greatly misunderstood about C.Fort.Fort takes literally 100s of examples of bizzare unexplained phenomena such as things falling from the sky (ranging from frogs or fish to metal objects) to spontaneous combustion, to unidentified flying objects, to time travel among others and actually exposes science's comical "answers" to these phenomena. Frogs that have been rained by the sky or fish for that matter are not a phenomenon that has stopped. It still happens. The "official explanation" remains as hilarious as it was back in Fort's times, namely: a hurricane or a whirlwind picks them up and "rains" them somewhere else. However, why these winds are selective in what they pick up remains unaswered by science. The usual and continuing up to this day explanation about UFOs which concerns mass illusion or the classic "weather baloon" explanation is picked up by Fort and given the ridiculing treatment it deserves. What makes Fort such a classic and cult figure is his ability to use subtle (mostly) but lethal sarcasm to debunk the dogmatic and more than often funny explanations that scientists offer when cornered with occurences that dont fit or even shutter their sacred theories. Fort's intention is none other than to highlight our trait of mixing cluelessness with arrogance and at the same time to trigger openmindedness or more importantly thinking for oneself and not religiously depending on science to shape the answers so that they fit the question. The problem that Fort brings out with the "Book of the damned" is one that persists today as well. With Darwinistic theories being heavily challenged, with the Bing Bang theory being literally taken apart by daring scientists, and with Quantum physics proving that the "unthinkable" might actually be very thinkable indeed it's the Fortean spirit celebrated all over again on a grand scale.Fort's critics (and they aren't few) take his theories the way they take the theories of mainstream science as well: for granted. Fort offers in this book for example a theory of a "super Sargasso sea" where all these living organisms keep falling from. One would have to be tremendously lacking in humour or imagination not to gather that Fort is yanking the collective chain here. What he does say in reality is: "if you can offer such a ridiculous theory about this phenomenon (insert unexplained phenomenon here) then i might as well add my own which by no means is less or more serious but it's nevertheless just as unproven as yours". It's as simple as that really and Fort uses this technique repeateadly in his "Book of the damned" calling damned those who "dare" refuse official dogma. There has been much criticism as well concerning the overwhelming bulk of paradigms that Fort uses in this book and the critics are probably right in this case. There was no need for such volume as the point would easily get across with 1/3 of these examples. But that aside, this is in fact a book way, way ahead of its time. It's funny how a man can be thrown to the pyre exactly because he uses his humour to dismiss our fear of not being able to explain the world around us. It's even funnier that we keep insisting we can despite alarming failures. The "Book of the damned" is a grand example of a brave mind. The problem with brave minds is that they are usually shoved under the gigantic rug tagged "truth" for a very long time before anyone recognises their impact.

10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. The First UFO Investigator By M. A Michaud This book, one of four he published before passing away in 1932, exploits Fort's research into reports of peculiar things in the sky or fallen from the sky to challenge the authority of establishment science. He describes the book as an assemblage of data of external relations of this earth, "damned" by those who hold for our planet's isolation. According to Fort, the attitude of Science and Christian Science toward the unwelcome is the same: it does not exist. Some of the events described in these reports would be described today as UFO's. While some of these cases may warrant attention, others seem marginal.Fort hypothesizes that "there is somewhere aloft a place" where life may have orginated; "evolution on this earth has been induced by external influences." He offers alternative explanations for unexplained sightings: another world that is in secret communication with certain "esoteric" inhabitants of this earth; other worlds that are trying to establish communication with all the inhabitants of the earth; other worlds and vast structures that pass us by without the slightest desire to communicate; a vast construction that has often come to this earth, dipped into an ocean, then gone away. At one point, Fort writes that the earth was a no-man's land explored and colonized by other worlds; now something owns this earth, warning off all others. All this, he goes on, has been known, perhaps for ages, to certain ones upon the earth. It is hard to know how much of this is serious and how much is just satire. Fort's imagined super-constructions a few miles above the earth stretch credibility too far. His quirky writing style, though sometimes entertaining, tends to further undermine his believability. Nonetheless, anyone wanting to read into the UFO phenomenon may find this book useful background.

23 of 28 people found the following review helpful. An excellent and hilarious classic! By A Customer This is not a new book, but was written sometime around the turn of century and has been considered a classic on most 'required reading' lists. A spoof on the awe in which society holds the Holy Writs of the scientific community, the author marshalled an impressive army of established, documented facts for which the official scientific explanations are simply absurd. A 'must read' for anyone who believes science teaches The Truth -- or for anyone who suspects otherwise.

By Rob Natiuk I'm sure you are aware that a 25-page book can offer only a brief introduction to such a big subject as leadership. You will get a glimpse into ineffective leadership (chapter 1) as a starting point to recognizing that YOUR leadership begins with YOU! (Chapter 2).In chapter 3 the author tries to make the point that "being a great friend makes a great leader." He has to belabor this point because it is not true. Employees want bosses whom they can respect and confidently follow, not a buddy-buddy. It's true that a boss should be able to listen well, relate with the human needs of his/her employees. But if he's the boss of a company of hundreds or even thousands of staff members, that friendship thing is not realistic, nor desired.Chapter 4 is important: "Learning to See the Best in Others." But sometimes the leader has to be firm enough to let an employee go who is not motivated to be his best. Chapter 5: What's the difference between a leader and a manager? And then a very good Chapter 5: "How To Be Your Own Model."The author talks too much "around the subject," a fluffed-up style that could be improved with sharp editing. He repeats too many points, often in almost the same words. But you can get some good points out of this book. Just look on it as a short overview and not a full development of leadership training as offered by stars in the field, such as Stephen R. Covey and John C. Maxwell.

The author starts by describing the types of inefficient leaders, and then focus on you as a leader including on how being a great friend leads to being a great leader, learn to see the best in others, develop your own leadership style and what differentiate a leader from a manager. The author offer great insight in what makes a great leader and tips to become one. The book is well written and an easy reading. Well worth reading if you want to be a great leader.

UFO Space Intelligences Contacts and Technique By Space Intelligences It has been experienced and said"Truth is Stranger than Fiction".How To Contact Space People by Mr. Ted Owensreveals how strange Reality can be when experienced outside the human value system. This is a very unique AUTHENTIC UFO contact manual shunned by mainstream xenophobic human society and media as being too fantastic to be true or in any way relevant to humans and the human value system. However this manual has nothing to do with The Occult, since neither Ted or SI's supported the secret human cults who rule over most societies. In its original 1969 Saucerian Press form, this is 96 full letter-sized pages with the pages printed in a large easy-to-read font. It includes several photos and a sketching and water colour front cover representation of other-dimensional space lifeforms.A price for this might be several hundred dollars but the manual's contents and implications are priceless.Ted Owens claimed to be the one and only incarnate person since Prophet Musa to have ACTUAL reliable two-way contacts with an extremely advanced Form of Life calledSpace Intelligences or SI'sSI's are far advanced beyond any humanoid form of life and this manual's title words of "Space People" limit the proper description of Space Intelligences who are to people like what people are to micro-organisms in Nature, only much more advanced.SI's are Other-Dimensional Very Advanced Very REAL Beings.Mr. Owens was one of the only People on Earth to specially tune and activate his own brain, by plenty work and expert techniques, to maintain contact SI's without suffering neurological damage, in the form of heart attacks, brain blood vessel ruptures (haemorrages) or nervous breakdowns as experienced by most other SI contactees and contacts. This is mostly about Ted's life and SI-related demonstrations when Ted lived in Philadelphia, PA, USA, in the late 1960's and was busy contacting media outlets and UFO organisations, trying to have People recognise his ACTUAL contacts with SI's, Who were trying to prevent a catastrophic disaster happening to the Planet, due to human misactivity, especially from within the USA, and especially due to Evil Magic, such as nuclear weapons and nuclear weapon delivery systems, such as missiles. There are various references and techniques for contacting SI's in a smaller section of this book, while the majority of the manual gives plenty evidence, including five exhibits, giving ample evidence of SI interaction with Mr. Owens, to include accurate predictions of hurricanes (Atlantic cyclones or Atlantic typhoons), tornados and earthquakes affected by SI's.Also included, are truthful testaments to the UFO ability of SI's to disable the electric system powering World City, and supposedly, to reverse the magnetic force fields of the entire planet.Ted Owens writes in the After Word:"As this book was in final editorial production I was advised by the Si's that each copy will be coded (charged) so that whoever reads it will activate power from another dimension, placing the reader en rapport with the Si's."Ted Owens' style of writing is very interesting to read, since Mr. Owens was highly intelligent and yet had excellent ability to get his message, and SI's Messages, across to People, including the CIA, in an easy-to-understand manner and language, whether spoken or written. There is also a Question and Answer section between a student, Chuck Jay, and Ted Owens as the final chapter. This book was well-geared for a younger audience, the open-minded minority or anyone interested in REAL LIFE adventure, to include Ted's many REAL LIFE death-defying experiences and Ted's amazing abilities, such as his capability to hypnotise other People by staring at them. Here are two short Q's and A's:Q. Is it possible that we can ever reach the Si's level of intelligence? You know, like being able to move things with our minds, and so forth.A. Absolutely impossible. They have different powers than we. They have different laws of nature. You see, the Si's are in a different world entirely. They are in another dimension. But they have discovered how to switch from their dimension into our dimension. Thus they have access both to their world and our world, while we are limited to our world. So we could never do what the Si's can do.Q. In other words, we are completely different, then, from the Si's.A. Yes, completely different. It has one chapter that is definitely on-topic titledHow You Can Contact The SI'swith plenty telepathic and mentalist technical information, while the majority is about Ted's exploits, and SI demonstrations, to include many clippings and quotes from newspapers and letters, relating to the major UFO-caused blackouts in World City.Be Forewarned:Two prominent psychic and UFO researchersD. Scott Rogo and Dr. John Mack of Harvardwere murdered or killed after they studied and gave credible public testimony concerning Mr. Owens, Space Intelligences and UFO's.Mr. Owens and Otto Binder, his biographer, openly warned of potential danger to UFO students or anyone contacting Space Intelligences:There hs been surveillance, intimidation, harrassment, assaults and possible abuductions, tortures and murders of UFO researchers and witnesses. For an interesting book about someone who was very much "in tune" with what Mr. Owens was concerned with, and even spoke and wrote similar to Mr. Owens, perhaps readThe Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley.Several books that Mr. Owens suggested as valuable resources for contacting SI's are still available:The Roth Memory Course by David RothAutoconditioning by Dr. Hornell HartSecrets of The Ages by Robert CollierIf unable to locate Autoconditoning by Dr. Hart, the nearest book I could find isSelf Hypnotism by Leslie M Le CronAlso, Mr. Owens recommended readingThe Sky People by Brinsley Le Poer TrenchIt is possible that after reading books like these and contacting Space Intelligences, You will no longer say"We are only human"and will gladly singStrange Days Have Found UsorPeople Are Strange

9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. My experience with the book By James Sikes In the early 1970s I tried to listen to an audio tape of how I could make contact with ETs. However, I 'passed out' ( went to sleep ) after the tape began. The same thing happened when I tried a 2nd and also a 3rd time, so I concluded that it was simply too advanced for my conscious mind, and let it go.A year or so later I asked a very advanced mentor of mine about making contact, and he told me "We'll talk about this tomorrow." . The next day when we met, he showed me a book, opened the page to reveal a disc taped to the inside cover, and gave me the instructions to "read this book completely, at least twice, before you ever touch the disc." I did as he instructed, and the rest of this testimonial will reveal what happened. The name of the book that my mentor handed me was "How to Contact Space People" by Ted Ownes, also known as "PK Man", by the SI.The possible reality of actually making contact with extraterrestrials still scared the heck out of me, so I proceeded slowly. Once, when at Flagler Beach, in Florida, with my wife, I called the SI. We watched as lights shot down towards the ocean, only to make a 90 degree turn, and come in our direction. As they got closer my heart would start to race, and when they got "too close" I asked them to go away, and they did..Later, I approached my genius cousin ( thought I might be braver with company ), and gave him the book to read, along with the disc and the same directions my mentor gave me. That evening, when I returned home from an outing, I found the book, the disc and a note scrawled in emphatic print that said "Never talk to me about this again!" It was over 30 years before I ever mentioned this to my cousin again, and his only comment was "They came!"At this time in my life, in the early 1970s, I was searching hard for anyone to show me "What doesn't change?", in other words, "What is real?" or "What is God?" All different words for the same thing. Finally, one night when alone in my room, I put forth a summons to the SI. There was a bright light in my room, and all of a sudden the SI that is drawn on the front cover of the book was standing there in front of me. With the purest telepathy I've ever experienced, he said: "You called, what do you want?" The words flowed from his heart, to my heart. There was no mouth, nor vocal cords involved, just pure, clear understanding. I replied back to him, "From you, nothing.", and he left. I was thankful that he left, as he was quite intimidating, and very, very advanced, as compared to us. Also I saw that he had nothing to give me other than intellectualism, and as I was seeking Truth, and Truth is not intellectual, I saw he had nothing for me.So, this is my experience with the book "How to Contact Space People." With the disc in hand, and the book to guide you, any earnest student can make contact with the SI people. And in hind sight, I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of.

It was unique. How to Contact Space People was quite an interesting listen. It was from Ted Owens own writings. This was an older publication which allows a person to view the thoughts and writings of someone who believed they were being contacted by space people. I thought it was very neat. This was a short audiobook but a fun listen and I would recommend it for anyone interested in the unknown.Jack Chekijian does an outstanding job narrating this book and I always enjoy his work.

Structura 3: The Art of SparthSparth

Review "Art giants such as Sparth remind us there’s still room to experiment, to change and grow as artists, in an industry overtly concerned with the zeitgeist. As Nicolas Bouvier’s (his real name) colossal career rumbles to the outer edges of its second decade, Structura 3 gives us a snapshot of three years of his work. . . . [it] certainly delivers on inspiration, and has us looking to the horizon for Structura 4… and beyond.” ―Imagine FX

About the Author Sparth (Nicolas Bouvier) has been an artistic director and concept designer in the gaming industry for almost two decades. Born in France, he had the privilege to travel extensively at an early age to such places as Singapore, China, and the United States, where he enjoyed observing people and making note of all the tiny details of life that he was witnessing. His varied influences are largely responsible for his many creative passions, which range from space and buildings to robotics and beyond. Professionally, Sparth worked for six years at Darkworks Studio, the Paris-based game studio responsible for Alone in the Dark 4: The New Nightmare (2001), before leaving for Montreal in 2003 to join Ubisoft on their ongoing projects, Prince of Persia and Assassin’s Creed. He then left Montreal for Dallas in 2005, where he spent more than three years working for id Software. Finally, in early 2009, he moved to Seattle to work on Halo adventures with Microsoft’s 343 Industries, where he currently serves as art director of Halo 5: Guardians, the next installment in the popular series. Sparth has contributed to the development of several other games since 1997, including Cold Fear (2005) and Rage (2011), and he has also published more than 80 book covers in France, Canada, and the United States. There are no limits to Sparth’s creativity when it comes to translating forms and concepts. One of his greatest passions remains to be contemporary architecture, the principles of which he applies to his own art, with an experimental and original approach. He also harbors a fascination for modern skyscrapers, although he admits that he himself wouldn’t be able to live too high above the ground.

Wonderful art in larger format now By Parka [[VIDEOID:1024f047be8e65184e345b9c1a332b7a]]So this artbook got postponed a few times but it's finally out. This is Sparth's third artbook. It's still has 160 pages but the size has increased to slightly larger than A4 size. His first and second books are smaller.Majority of the artworks are in portrait mode and the new presentation allows them to be printed huge. Size does make an impact when viewing the art and it's awesome to see those beautiful paintings so big. Several horizontal pieces are printed across two pages so that's even bigger. Reproduction quality from publisher Design Studio Press is high as usual. It's always a delight to see new works from Sparth. I love the style of his sci-fi art, the play on shapes, textures, composition, lighting, details and colours. The designs look great. Featured in the book are work created for book covers, video games (Halo 4) and his personal pieces, some of which are created in 30 minutes but definitely do not look so.Other than the art, there are 24 pages of tutorial that looks at the design and thought process of Sparth. He talks about the brushes and his digital techniques that he uses. This book is available in paperback and hardcover.Highly recommended to those who like sci-fi and environment art.(See more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.)

His work continues to be inspirational to the extreme; environments, vehicles and the lonely soul in a vast landscape. I always want to see more process in his books... ALWAYS. So please Scott and Sparth, give us more process. But this isn't a criticism, just a request.Strong work Sparth! And thanks to you and your employers for letting us see what happens behind closed doors. Here's a link to Sparth and Scott Robertson walking us through the book.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-32IGzhn4E

You can find a lot of the images online (as with most tangible content these days). But, having a book to flip through in the analog world is also good.

Hershman INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION - 1963It reads like a story of Big Government trying to shut down Independent Business. The setting is early in the 1960s at the advent of the modern space age. An enterprising company has set up a mining endeavor on an out-world to collect, process, and sell atmospheric gas products. The company is initially successful and an unnamed government entity of Earth has mobilized the Navy (??) to manufacture an incident to enable to government to shut down the operation and subsequently take it over. The company rebels and, led by the protagonists Mike Blades and Jimmy Chung, manage to derail the incident and save the company. This leads to the eventual successful establishment of quasi-independent out-worlds able to hold their own in the marketplace without Big Government control. A good, is somewhat fanciful story smacking of the time in which it was written. Worth the effort.DUEL ON SYRTIS - 1951A good short period piece of the "Buck Rogers" style. A trophy hunter of the future has arrived on Mars to "bag" a wild indigent Martian before they are all gone. You immediately form a dislike of the hunter and find yourself siding with the Martian character who is intelligent and aware. The hunter has all the modern advantages, and the Martian has little besides his cunning. In the end, the Martian survives and the trophy hunter is defeated, receiving a fitting end to his heinous quest. A quick enjoyable read.

By Rick Cook This novella is another in Poul Anderson's "Belter" stories about the industrialization of the asteroid. As you'd expect with an Anderson, there's a good deal of scientific background neatly worked in, techno-optimism, and a satisfying amount of hugger-mugger as the misguided villains try to stamp out freedom and free enterprise in the Belt. It rolls right along and wraps up nicely, as you'd expect from one of the great masters of classic science fiction. Of course it's dated, not so much for the technology but for the conditions today, still it's nice to be reminded what it was like to dream big.

I found myself chuckling in a few places where futuristic notions of space life are actually be considered antiquated in today's information age, like have communication with earth but still receiving paper "newsfaxes" for information.
