By Rob Natiuk If the author lives up to his introduction, you're going to get "proven steps and strategies on how to keep yourself motivated and learn discipline to get things done." So hang in for these 20 pages of "pure magic!" Well, let's see what we have.First, a two-page copyright that assumes all readers are thieves and are motivated to steal this book for all its worth! Mr. Oberman, you've just lost a star for wasting all this space in a short book. Next time, just "copyright (symbol), your name, date, and place of publication will do. Well, got that off my chest. Now to the real stuff.Chapter 1: "Developing Discipline the Easy Way." But then it says: "In fact it can be a very difficult thing to accomplish." Make a list that you need to accomplish, break up large tasks into smaller ones, have a schedule, "triage your to-do items," etc. All good sensible rules. But it sounds like he makes it a "life and death" case with that "triage" bit.Chapter 2: "Action Can Motivate You--So Get Up and Get Moving." A lot of rambling about here, as if the author isn't clear himself.Chapter 3: "How Habits Are Formed." A fair number of actions of what we ought to do--but doesn't get much into how.Chapter 4: "Breaking Your Bad Habits." Too simplistic here-- quit cold turkey... use reversal method... relaxation... don't repeat the same stuff in your writing (oh! sorry, just the impression I get in this guy's writing style!)Chapter 5: "The Ins and Outs of Hard Work." This is a fairly good chapter and gives a list of well-rounded actions to take.Conclusion: "No one says that it will be easy so good luck and have fun."

Sensible and encouraging content By Pearl Angeli I am not really an expert when it comes to discipline and motivation things so when I read this book, I hardly have any clue. All the information that came out appeared to be really informative and sensible. I love how the author reached out to her audience by making everything sound encouraging. It actually was helpful, in a way.I guess I just found majority of the information a bit cliché and sometimes they are also impossible to attain. That left me really doubting if I can actually put all the strategies listed by the author to use. Anyway, the conclusion said that everything really depends on the person. If motivation and discipline works for me, then it might not work for you in an easy way. So perhaps, if really putting everything at heart, the things that were discussed are possible to attain.

You can commit to quitting cold turkey, habit reversal, or even simply reducing your stress and relaxing. Overall, to achieve your goals, you just have to take the first step, and keep motivated and focused.
