If you want to learn how to draw with pencils, this book has all the information you need to get you started and drawing in no time. The author starts by describing what material you should get and begin drawing simple basic shapes to get into it. Then you have a chapter that discuss the different pencils types and grading. You will also learn what pencils the best to use in drawing and sketching. I really like the way the author describes the different techniques to use in pencil art including light and heavy outlines, hatching, stipping, cross-hatching, back and forth stroke and scumbling. You will also learn how to blend pencil. There is also information on how to draw using graphite sticks. I appreciated also the fact that the author describes the top drawing mistakes beginners can make and how to improve your sketching skills. Overall, the book is very thorough for a beginner's guide. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning how to draw, very informative.

Along that road - I did not know what "a beginner" I was until reading this book. This book tells you everything you need to learn related to pencil drawings. I had never thought about the different types of pencils needed and the different types of drawing techniques needed to make truly good pictures until reading this book. I liked this step by step approach to drawing - it fit me to a tee.

It explains the different types of pencils, which is very important as we learn this in Art school. I believe it is very Important to give people pencil culture, as it is the basis of art and drawing. I highly recommend this book to all those who are interested in art and drawing.

You simply dive into it, seemingly out of the blue and in the middle of events. After re-reading it, I'm fairly certain that in the hands of a lesser author it would have ended up being something entirely different--much longer and probably less interesting. As is I really enjoyed it, even the ending.This little story does everything a good short story should do. I am not much of a sci-fi fan, but I will be looking for a few more titles from Blish. I hope you enjoy it as well.

I followed this with the book, "The Seedling Stars", which has a couple more of Blish's stories of different human biologies, which he calls 'adapted' rather than 'engineered', an implied vote in favor of evolution.

Lickel Written in an engaging and informative style, Burbach's latest up to date book on social media guides readers of all levels into developing, renovating and keeping up with trends for working writers. Not everyone can and should write books to earn money as an author. The earliest predictions for blogs thought they were going to be another flash in the pan, like V8 tapes and answering machines, but as Burbach proves, that ain't so. There is plenty of writing channels for all those readers out there.Burbach supplies instructions as well as helpful links to setting up a blog, how to make it work for you, and what to do when it doesn't. For those who especially like the WordPress platform, Burbach helps writers understand what and how to engage readers, what kind of advertising and analytics to apply to your blog to show how it's working for you. Some of the information may seem overwhelming, but her helpful links and personable writing style allow you to work at your own pace and figure things out that work for you. This book excels at providing examples and advice for those willing to pursue this route. The tips were really great and cover all parts of the process, both finding the clients as well as the process of writing. I liked the part on using the social media and overall this book has showed me so much about blogging I didn’t know before. I would highly recommend it.

8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Nice artbook companion for Chappie By Parka [[VIDEOID:89c492d231bde61f754f8db260eab797]]This is my third artbook from a Neill Blomkamp movie. I love Neill Blomkamp's movies for the blend of sci-fi and grittiness.Chappie: The Art of the Movie is a large oversized hardcover artbook written by Peter E. Aperlo, and published by Titan Books. Some places list the book as only 144 pages but there are actually 160 pages.The content is the filled with behind-the-scenes photographs, film stills, concept art and comes with a generous amount of production stories. The writeup is insightful and covers how the film is made and analysis for the characters and their motivation.The concept artworks included are great. You'll get to see the many designs of Chappie and Moose. Some of the orange colour that they use in the art reminds me of District 9's mecha designs. I love the detail work, things like bullet holes, graffiti and battle damage surfaces. There are also 3D renders of the robots. The best artworks are the robot art, the rest such as for weapons, vehicles are just alright.Many of the so called scene paintings look like photographs with some sort of digital painterly filter effect applied over them. I don't like that look and that's the only thing I don't like about this book.I felt that Chappie: The Art of the Movie is not as good as the earlier two for District 9 and Elysium. That's because the earlier two books are packed with mostly art while this Chappie book is a mixed of photographs and art.But overall, it's still a pretty good artbook companion for the film.(See more pictures of the book on my blog. 9 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Great value for a great book By W. Gomez As with Niell Blomkamp's previous artbooks, this one suffers no less quality than the previous movies. Great art and background in the creation of the characters and the robots (can't wait to see the scouts and the Moose in action. If you are a Blomkamp superfan like I am then definitely pick it up! Just make sure to not read the last section of the book before seeing the movie, as it contains spoilers. 5/5

I was glad to see that this is a full size book, not a mini pocket size activity book.I hid it away when it was delivered, to give to our 7 yr old when we go camping at the end of the month. I thought it would be perfect for any rainy days that we may get on our camping trip and we're stuck in the tent most of the day.*Well,...I gave it to him last night instead,...(shh! I had to play the 'Tooth-Fairy'). He was so thrilled when he found it under his pillow. He thought it was just a coloring book at first, but as he turned the pages and saw dot-to-dots, mazes and more, he was so excited! I couldn't get him to put it down. Towards the back pages, there are some cut-outs that you put together,...he calls them 'origami',...but I don't think that's what it's called. You cut, fold and tape and have these cool block shaped characters from the game, like Steve, a creeper, so on. There's a lot to do in the book, it will definitely keep your child busy and happy. FYI, you may not want to give it to your child before school. Our son missed the bus because he was so caught up in all the Minecraft fun.

They both love minecraft so this is a fun way to get them thinking. It was very cute but still made them work their brains. I definitely recommend for any Minecraft loving child!

While he doesn't own the game he does know all about it from reading the series. While home from school with a very bad virus and then the flu I sent this to him. (He lives in another state then I) He receieved it on the 2nd business day and was feeling a bit better at that point to be able to enjoy this. Not much else, so this was the perfect thing for him. My daughter in law said it is great for his age and upward.

After exploring the common opinion of prominent economic actors, established entrepreneurs and financial advisors, I have come to define a successful investor as someone who, with a moderate of time, devises an investment strategy to achieve financial and personal objectives and who gains access to competitive returns by undertaking a certain degree of financial risk. Upon a careful investigation of recent market trends, investing research and stock market perception, it becomes apparent that stock market-specific decision-making builds both on objective variables (unbiased reports, facts, financial figures, diagrams), and subjective factors, in other words, investors’ reactions to quantifiable market indicators (apprehension, haste, stubbornness, fear, greed, impatience, etc.). Especially among the ranks of inexperienced stock market investors, this overlap renders market actors prone to a number of investing mistakes, some bigger than others. In other words, quality decision-making in stock trading is not limited to staying up to date with the facts; it is more about learning how to perceive and interpret the information you get in order to come up with conscious, well-thought-out action plans. Even the most knowledgeable and intelligent stock market players can succumb to simple mistakes if they base their decisions on pure instinct instead of reasoning. And, in fact, a large majority of mistakes are the consequence of subjective thinking, or, in other words, letting feelings take control when making decisions. Because of that, before we begin enumerating and discussing the most common mistakes and traps of stock market investing, we will first discuss the behavioral aspects of investing and probe into several important aspects of cognitive psychology. Once we have learned a little about behavioral biases and how we can avoid letting our feelings take control over the logical mind, we will move on to the most common subjective factors (mostly emotions and misperceptions) that are known to trigger error-prone thinking. We will analyze in this book each of these emotions in turn and come up with a way to take control over them when making financial decisions. Lastly, we will discuss the deadly mistakes in stock market investing in relation with the subjective factors that produce them and see how we can overcome each of them. Therefore, the last chapter of this article serves as a collection of common obstacles that may keep you from being successful and fully accomplishing your financial goals, which also includes useful tips and advice for overcoming those obstacles on your road to stock market investing success. I would suggest reading this book first and then going into the details of the first book.As the book uses real examples and is updated in the past 3-4 weeks it has some real good hints and tips on where the major stocks analysed are headed in the near future. All this for just 10 dollars !!There's a catch behind the 10 dollar for such a valuable resource though, and that is Ramki's goal to teach and share his knowledge and expertise of EW. This tells you a lot about the author and the book.

Similar to his first book, this is well written, in a gentle and patient tone and the ideas presented are easy to grasp. He backs up his theory with clear case studies and well labelled charts. Some might be skeptical as to the approach, but I for one, am certainly persuaded from he evidence he presents to give this approach a careful look.All in all, well worth a read for being that real rarity.....a book on investing that is both enjoyable to read and highly informative too!Thank you Mr Ramki for sharing your knowledge with everyone who cares to partake.

I have Ramki's first book and I find those to be easier to grasp the method of wave counting and applying target support and resistance.I found it easy to follow and practical examples. He used different colors to distinguish sub waves and that made it easier to follow in addition to the different fonts that he used in the first book.The examples were very current...some less than a month old.I was ready to give up on Elliot Wave but readying this book encouragement me to go back and re-redad his first book. It makes better senses to be now. Also the use of Fibonacci numbers makes more sense to me now.I am glad I bought this book.

That's why I downloaded this book to inspire me to maximize time and free myself from stress due to times wasted caused by inefficiency. Great read!This book made me look at life in a different perspective. I liked its second chapter where the author discussed on changing one’s lifestyle habits. I really intend to improve my sleep as well as eating habits, so having this chapter is a helpful reminder for me to achieve a work-life balance. I realized I need to get rid of soda from my diet, eat more in the morning than any time of the day, and take note of what I eat. Diet should be regularly observed and it should consist of healthy diet foods. I also liked the inclusion of a pie chart which, I think, is a brilliant idea to easily maintain a timetable and balance time for work, fun and relaxation, and ensure to simultaneously have with it a healthy eating and a sufficient exercise. Indeed, this is an interesting read!Thank you for motivating me with your book, Cody! I wish to read more from you.

It is packed with all sorts of helpful advice on how to get control of your time. A big part of this is learning how to prioritize what exactly you are doing. Far too many people are wasting their lives using their time on things that don't matter. Once you have identified what really matters to you, it becomes much easier to put first things first. The other thing is finding what things in your life can be cut out completely, what can be delegated to others and what can be automated. Things that can save you a few seconds or minutes will add up over time and you will see that you can accomplish anything!

It tackles the problem with time management by introducing 10 effective habits to being productive. I sure can tell that an overload of work and tons of commitments can overwhelm a person which directly leads to being unproductive.The first chapter covers the unhealthy and unproductive habits of people, but the second one deals with changing one's lifestyle habits. Pretty simple lifestyle changes are listed down that can help you change and boost your productivity. Great reminder to achieve the work-life balance and brilliant ideas to easily maintain healthy eating, sleeping, working, exercising and relaxing habits. The author spreads the message in a very understandable and easy to follow way, however, this is not enough, without a little discipline and determination.I recommend this book to people who live busy lives and are constantly under stress while managing their time. It is really an interesting read as an eye-opener for making a change.

Mistakes Authors Make could save a new or veteran author a great deal of time, money and frustration. How many of us have ordered too many printed copies in an initial run because we calculated the savings buying in bulk? Next thing you know you've got a pallet of unsold books taking up valuable space in your garage. This has a domino effect next year when you wish to rewrite or put out a second edition. These are things most authors learn the hard way. Why not skip all that and learn from others mistakes? That's the power of this book! It covers everything from understanding your target market to leveraging the power of Amazon.

It made me seriously consider some things like why it is a good idea to have paperback copies as well as a kindle version.As an author I could relate to everything discussed. With print-on-demand you can still get a few paperback copies to savor as a new author but you won't have to worry about shipping out your own books.The authors of this book think that everyone has a book in them and they are willing to explain all the things you should do right. You will also know the difference between self-publishing and vanity publishing.What I liked about this book is how it gave me ideas on how I could reach a wider audience.
