By Anthony Akoto Osei Jr. I have been a customer of amazon since 2006 and this is the 1st review I have ever written. Beyond the obvious triumph as a fictional story positively portraying bodies of color, this story is amazing. I hope Marvel Comics picks it up very soon, before DC has a chance! I do not want to give any spoilers but the historical research behind this project makes it a fantastic mix of fantasy and good writing.

An introduction worth checking out By Brandon Scott Pilcher I'm giving this first issue four stars since it succeeded in piquing my interest in the storyline, and I really liked that the Egyptians as well as the Nubian protagonists were portrayed as dark-skinned Africans (aka "black people"). There are some creative liberties taken with the conflict between Upper/Southern and Lower/Northern Egypt (usually it was the South which would conquer the North in periods of division throughout Egyptian history), and I personally feel were-jackals or were-hyenas would have suited the African backdrop better than the old-school gray werewolves, but then this is obviously fantasy rather than based on real history. The art is decent to good in general.I wish this early issue was a little longer, but then that's a sign that I want to see more of this story!

Mr Louise-Marie you just got something right here, you are a world builder of great talent. My only complaint is that it is too damn short, 37 pages, I just want more. Seeing how great is the art I can imagine how long it took you to pull it off so I take my hat off to you for the amazing work. Now I am off to read the second book :)
