Beaulieu I have to admit that I approached this book with a certain amount of skepticism because there are just so many books about branding out there today; and they all seem to be promising the same thing; all ideas and no implementation...no way to make happen. So what I did with this book instead of just opening it up and reading it, I thumbed through it, looking at the end of each chapter trying to get a feel for the book and if it was worth my time to read it. Well you know what? After I saw chapter after chapter of do it yourself and get it done advice I knew that I had found the right book on finding your brand and getting the word out.So after realizing that this book was valuable I went back and starting reading it. It did not take long for me to realize that I had made the right decision when on page ten of the introduction is read: Business is not just a transaction: it's an experience. People do more business with people and companies that engage them in the purchasing experience. When you attach meaning to the act of doing business with you, you stand out from the crowd.And that's it! It's all about standing out from the crowd. It's about creating your story, read your brand and then telling that story to as many right people as possible. Get the story out to the right people.As the author says many times; being world famous is much more than being well known. A world famous brand is one that people feel an affinity with. One that they love to visit and talk about.By using the books very easy to follow chapter steps you can: find your super niche, find your brand, what makes you outstanding? What makes people want to do business with you? What is your experience? How do you stand out?The author spends a significant amount of time showing you how to get your business story down to...no not a page, no not the proverbial elevator talk that we have all heard about, but rather, get this .... Down to three little words representing three basic and important characteristics of your company. Three words and you have the basis for your entire branding program. It's true. And it really works. I went through the exercises with my humble company and it has changed completely the way I look at the company. If you don't believe me check out the book. It will be the best branding move you've made yet.

I only take one... so even if the book is a bummer I read through it to pull out the nuggets. Well, World Famous, is not one that you need to pull little nuggets from. I loved the whole thing.It is packed with interesting and useful nuggets (one of my favorites is the 3 word mission statement). And each nugget is backed with a relevant story.The only thing is the book has a few too many exercises for me. But I am critical of that, since I like to read cover to cover, underline on the way, and then go back to review. Never been a fan of exercises that take more than 30 minutes to complete, since it kinda messes up the flow for me.So if there is any critique it is just that I personally could have had a few less exercises.All the content in this book ROCKED though. Definitely read pages 85 (business personality), 127 (playground and superniches), 142 (the importance of standing for something and the way it relates to your superniche), and page 173 (love them no matter what - buying or not... reminds me of the "Go-Giver" philosophy).Get the book! Marketing is the weak point for most entrepreneurs I work with and I have already recommended this book to several. I even blogged about the 3 word branding idea and mentioned the book there as well. Especially good content for consultants and coaches and anyone else who needs to stand out in a crowded industry.
