By ANONYMOUS I have to say that I am inspired by his determined spirit to keep seeking a job, every time he has been without one. I believe that God is using him in a mighty way, to encourage, help, inspire, and guide other people who are currently going through the great trauma and stress of being without a job, just like Kurt has experienced several times in his life. I believe this book of Kurt's is an inspired-of-God-masterpiece. In the words of Joyce Meyer, "We may not get a good start in life, but when we follow God, we can have a GREAT finish!" Please know, that when we experience certain painful losses in our lives, God always has a plan B that is far better than our plan A could have ever been, but we must TRUST GOD, lean on Him, and be obedient to do what He puts in our hearts to do every step of the way. However, I am not being paid or compensated for this review. Having been in transition myself a few times in the past few years, I was really blown away. Chapter 3 (the Action Plan) totally KICKS BUTT! Chapter 3 alone is worth the price of the book. Kurt's writing and organizational skills are great, making the reading very approachable, and it's a book you can flip through and use piecemeal as needed. Most impressive is his thorough and detailed research. Readers will truly benefit from his wealth of knowledge about the job market. I plan to buy this for a '15 graduate in my family and may buy a few more as gifts for friends in between jobs.

About the Author Ernest Bramah, of whom in his lifetime Who's Who had so little to say, was born in Manche-ster. At seventeen he chose farming as a pro-fession, but after three years of losing money gave it up to go into journalism. He started as correspondent on a typical provincial paper, then went to London as secretary to Jerome K. Jerome, and worked himself into the editorial side of Jerome's magazine, To-day, where the got the opportunity of meeting the most impor-tant literary figures of the day. But he soon left To-day to join a new publishing firm, as editor of a publication called The Minister; finally, after two years of this, he turned to writing as his full-time occupation. He was intensely intere-sted in coins and published a book on the En-glish regal copper coinage. He is, however, best known as the creator of the charming character Kai Lung who appears in Kai Lung Unrolls His Mat, Kai Lung's Golden Hours, The Wallet of Kai Lung, Kai Lung Beneath the Mulberry Tree, The Mirror of Kong Ho, and The Moon of Much Gladness; he also wrote two one-act plays which are often performed at London variety theatres, and many stories and articles in leading perio-dicals. He died in 1942.

By Paul Roberge In the Father Brown story, "The Strange Crime of John Boulnois," the title character describes his pleasure of sitting undisturbed in a comfortable chair, reading a mystery novel: "It was not only peace, but a plenitude." To replicate Boulnois's experience, find yourself a chair, a fireside, with a decanter of port at hand, and a Kindle version of Bramah's Max Carrados stories.Carrados is a blind man who detects by way of his nose, ears, and brain. He's assisted by his man Parkinson, who has trained himself to a masterful visual memory, and by an old detective friend, Carlyle. Carrados has the not very credible ability to read text by running his fingers over the printed page, but otherwise he presents a believable character. The plots are well-paced and varied, with the occasional unexpected ending.Sit back and enjoy.

Piepenbrink Max here was first of the breed, solving mysteries by intelligent use of his other senses, rational thought, and the eyes of his butler and others. The four stories here are only a sample. There are four volumes of "Max Carrados" stories in all. Workable mysteries, but not all "fair play" by later standards, since Max dates to a period when the rules of the detective story were still being worked out.Note that Bramah is also author of the "Kai Lung" stories quoted from time to time by Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane. But the Max Carrados stories stand well on their own merits.

An Enjoyable Mystery Classic By Postscripter I just love the the real classics of mystery- those books and detectives that inspired Christie and Sayers. These four stories are great examples of why Ernest Bramah and his detective was one of those classics. Pity that Sherlock Holmes has so overshadowed the rest, that so many worthy fictional detectives have been forgotten.Then only reason I don't give this collection a 5 star rating is that once or twice a detail in the solution is not explained, as it is in the best mysteries. But don't let it keep you from getting this book, as it has period charm and atmosphere.Consider, that even the third rate, lowest, trashiest for the public litrature of the 1900's (which this book is not), was still better written than much of what is seriously on offer today. A sad comment on the average written english skills of most authors.

A excellent how-to guide on how to approach modeling at Enterprise scale, which can be a daunting task for most middle to large corporations. The author introduces several key concepts, such as "Theory of Constraints" and "Object thinking" which are woven into a pragmatic and pedagogical approach to execution at enterprise scale. This would be excellent background for any enterprise architecture or business process transformation program.

Finally, an easy to read book that can help. The author does an excellent job explaining about parenting, saving, and spending money. There's also some good tips on payday loans, maintaining good credit, and collection agencies. It's a must read for any young adult rolling out on their own.

This is an excellent guide not only for individuals who have had no education, mentoring or opportunity to learn, but also for people who have been out in the world but could always use reminders and other tricks to help with their finances and well being. The balance between practical tools and "spiritual" awareness and insight is just perfect. It is deceptively deep. It appears to be a simple collection of practical ideas, but upon reflection it encourages a lifestyle shift and promotes taking personal responsibility for our finances and our life. I look forward to sharing this with people of all ages and keeping it on my desk for reminders and guidance.

Campbell's two cents on finance is worth the read By Ryan Guy Though this book is geared toward single parents and college kids, both of which I am not, I still found useful info for myself and my current situation. I enjoyed the tips on cheap/free ideas to entertain children in the summer and the reminder of how important maintaining a good credit score is. This author's writing style was conversational and included liberal doses of humor which made the topic of personal finance, dare I say, fun.That the author's mother invested in a timeshare property and it actually provided an affordable yearly vacation is a testament to this family's financial savvy.

I enjoyed this book By Gianluca Spizzo I am a layman on weather prediction and atmospheric physics, and I really enjoyed reading the "Observer's guide to clouds and weather". In an era dominated by computer simulations, it is nice to follow someone teaching you how to "read" the signs out there in the sky, like our forefathers did for centuries, before us.After two introductory chapters that set the foundations of weather physics, the authors explain the different types of clouds, and how to combine this info with pressure measurements to get your own 24 to 26 hour forecast. Really fascinating, and well written.Some drawbacks: the authors want to consider their book as a "primer", but despite the fact that the book is indeed devoid of formulas and technical jargon, many of the concepts are not as simple as the authors would like to think. Sometimes the book would have been even simpler, if the authors had used a little formulas and technical terms.Moreover, even if the authors state, in the 1st chapter, that the mechanism of weather evolution is pretty the same across midlatitudes in the whole Northern emisphere, in the last chapters they narrow their focus on the NE United States only. Maybe a survey chapter on the evolution of the weather in Europe and/or some portions of Asia, at the same latitudes, would have been welcome (perhaps in a future edition).
