By Daniel Sharfin The book is an easy read that hits all the major concerns about interviewing - and how to handle them appropriately. It's not preachy, and isn't trying to sell you a list of interview questions like so many other "How To Interview" books.I recommend it to anyone who is trying to land a job. It helps you understand what prospective employers are really looking for in an interview.Extremely helpful!

Friedenson, the author, is an expert at interviewing. This book can be read in an evening, but don't mistake its brevity for lack of thoroughness. Rather, it presents simple but powerful frameworks that enable the reader to focus their efforts on giving the interviewer the key points they're looking for. I had a big interview I was nervous about - I hadn't been on the job market for years. I read this book, did the preparation suggested, and nailed the interview. I even slept well the night before because I was able to direct my nervous energy towards rehearsing the plan laid out in the book. You could waste hours reading bad interview advice that overwhelms you with minutia. This book saves you that time. Considering how little this book costs, this is the definition of value. Buy it - you won't regret it.

I came away impressed because it synthesizes the main challenges of interviewing and provides actionable strategies for the true job seeker. Specifically, this book highlights some tactics to avoid rambling during an interview, a common yet catastrophic mistake most interviewees make.This book will also help you if you're getting started interviewing candidates, as it gives you a nice benchmark to judge a candidate's ability to structure a problem and their level of preparation for the interview.Don't look here If you're looking for a big book of questions and answers. However, I would question your job seeking strategy and motivation if you can't put the work to create compelling answers that tell your own story. You can Google interview questions and answers, but be aware that your interviewer can find the same answers as easily as you and you will be caught. You need to differentiate yourself in the job search, and Googling answers isn't a way to do it. Thinking through how to crisply and concisely tell your story will, thus my 5 star rating for this book.
