A Must Have Book For Anyone with a Business - Any Business By Dee I will be the first one to admit that I have found marketing to be confusing, and unpleasant.It seems that some people get it, while others just don't for some reason.In a world where things change so rapidly, it's also tough to know how to communicate effectively - and using the right methods in which to do so.That's why I can appreciate what Don Purdum has shared in his book "The Shift - The Fast Paced Transition from Mass Marketing to Context Marketing: Learn how to resonate with and inspire those who are ready to buy from you".He talks about getting in touch with what you're really doing in business by having you explore your motives, your message and especially, your why.I like things simplified. I don't relate to complicated material.Don's book made marketing seem simple, and addressed the fact that times have changed and along with this, our methods in reaching people need to change as well.We all identify with a style of marketing that targets the masses - and with this, we're taught that we're supposed to be great salespeople.The problem is, people don't want to be sold, even though they DO want to buy.So why would they buy from you?This book dispenses the tools necessary to find the answer to that..If you own a business - any business regardless of the model, product, etc - I highly recommend getting this book.It'll change (and clarify) your perspective on marketing.

The internet is truly a powerful medium for promotion of products and services, and for the dissemination of ideas and training. But it not a static enterprise. Purdum shows the importance… no… the necessity of understanding the fluid nature of the internet medium, and he gives clear insight into how you can adjust, and flow with it, in order to master it.Now, while mythological shape shifters use magic and divine intervention to combat suddenly emerging obstacles, "The Shift" offers you some more concrete methods for meeting the challenges of internet marketing. The Shift - A Must Read for all business owners By Adrienne Smith Most people in business are really good in certain areas but maybe not so much in others. We fall back on how things use to work and aren't easily swayed that things don't always remain the same. Don has a great way of helping us understand what area it is that we need to improve upon and it definitely starts with knowing what business you are really in.From that we have to understand how to really reach our target audience and get their attention. Most people fail miserably in the marketing aspect of their business and that's because they don't truly understand how it all works. Most people that run their business aren't marketers which is why this book is a must read. You'll quickly understand what it takes because Don explains it so well.~Adrienne
