I bought this as an impulse buy from another retailer, but wanted to share my thoughts on The Tao of Coaching.I'm one of those readers who doesn't have the attention span for heavy, deep tomes outside of an academic context. Most of the works on this subject are quite dense by my standards, but Tao is a trove of easily accessible and applicable tools. The "story" is light and Landsberg even suggests how to skip around and still get the most out of the book. It's as if he knew there'd be people like me reading it!

By Amazon Customer I discovered a shelf of old antiquarian algebra books in my university library and upon reading them I must admit I was astonished to see the incredible contrast between how rigorously algebra was taught in the past and how depressingly watered down the subject is now. This book was first printed in 1905 and I found a few others printed in the 1880's, All of which are absolutely phenomenal books, seriously the subject of algebra is built from the ground up rigorously and if you look at the tables of contents of these older books you will likely be as shocked as myself when you see just how much ground they cover. We as a society need to make a return to teaching algebra in the way it used to be taught and stop watering the subject down. I bought this book and have been reading it whenever I find the time and enjoying every opportunity I get to dip into it. By the way I also want to recommend an old algebra book, the book that got me started on my recent algebra text collecting, higher algebra by Hall and Knight, it was originally printed in the 1880's, but it is a phenomenal book as well.

A must-read for any conscious/holistic/spiritual practitioner or business person By Matsliah Eyal The 'conscious hustle' has some deep and inspiring ideas and concepts drawing on NLP, spiral dynamics, personal development, eastern philosophies, sales, marketing and business.I specifically appreciate the 'spiritual business plan' at the end of the book, which is a practical structure and process to look at your business, product, or service, and align it with the 7 levels or aspects of existence, from purpose, vision and message, all the way to the next concrete actions you need to take.The book will actually help spiritual 'free-spirit' types to get more grounded and take action, as well as helping more conservative business people to open up to a holistic, integrated and conscious way of doing business that will improve not just their bottom line but their overall sense of fulfillment.I recommend this book to all my clients and friends, and I use it as part of my 'Integrated coaching' service.The only small issue with the book is the editing and typos, but that doesn't take away from the excellent content.Once again, highly recommended!

Taylor Although it is less often read than such Wells novels as THE WAR OF THE WORLDS, the basic story of THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU is very well known through several extremely loose film adaptations. Pendrick, a British scientist, is shipwrecked--and by chance finds himself on an isolated island where Dr. Moreau and his assistant Montgomery are engaged in a series of experiments. They are attempting to transform animals into manlike beings.Wells, a social reformer, was a very didactic writer, and his novels reflect his thoughts and theories about humanity. Much of Wells writing concerns (either directly or covertly) social class, but while this exists in MOREAU it is less the basic theme than an undercurrent. At core, the novel concerns the then-newly advanced theory of natural selection--and then works to relate how that theory impacts man's concept of God. Wells often touched upon this, and in several novels he broaches the thought that if mankind evolved "up" it might just as easily evolve "down," but nowhere in his work is this line of thought more clearly and specifically seen than here.At times Wells' determination to teach his reader can overwhelm; at times it can become so subtle that it is nothing short of absolutely obscure. But in THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU, Wells achieves a perfect balance of the two extremes, even going so far as to balance the characters in such a way that not even the narrator emerges as entirely sympathetic. It is a remarkable achievement, and in this sense I consider MOREAU possibly the best of Wells work: the novel is as interesting for the story it tells as it is for still very relevant themes it considers.It is also something of an oddity among Wells work, for while Wells often included elements of horror and savagery in his novels, MOREAU is not so much horrific as it is disturbingly gruesome and occasionally deliberately distasteful. 28 of 29 people found the following review helpful. A good in-between book By A Customer Admittedly, Anne's House of Dreams IS a pretty good book. Anne and Gilbert finally get married (FINALLY, after we've been waiting for the last four books) and go to Four Winds Harbor to spread their wings. They live in a cute little "house o' dreams" (hence the title) and meet all sorts of new people: Captian Jim, Miss Cornelia, Leslie, Owen Ford, etc., who are all, by the way, wonderfully characterized, as is L.M. Montgomery's signature. The only real problems that I had with this book was that it had lost the flair of the other "Anne" books, and wasn't quite ready for the mischevious tinge that the following books, which are mainly about the Blythe children, bring with them. Like I said, kind of a bridge between the real Anne books and the books about her kids. I also missed the presence of the Avonlea people like Marilla, Diana, Mrs. Lynde, and so on. But for the most part, it met my expectations. You've got to remember that it had some pretty high standards that it's predecessors had set to live up to.

MOREAU.The price is certainly attractive for this edition of H.G. Wells' classic short novel (just $2). However, you should be aware that this edition is missing the Introduction. Someone at Dover made a big mistake. The Introduction is part of the novel and it contains important information.However, I'm guessing someone at Dover saw the Introduction ends with the name "Charles Edward Prendick" (as author of the introduction) and decided this wasn't written by H.G. Wells so it's expendable in a bare-bones edition. Not so fast. The introduction was indeed written by Wells. It's in the first person, with Charles Edward Prendick as the "I". Then for the remainder of the novel, Charles' uncle Edward is the narrator and central character.Big mistake, Dover. This is supposedly an "unabridged" edition. However, the first two pages (the introduction) are missing. I did a quick search on Amazon of other editions of this novel, and all listings that have Amazon's LOOK INSIDE! feature include the introduction.Wells novel: 5 stars, absolutely great!Dover Thrift Edition: 1 star, unacceptable.Avoid this edition.

Read it in about 40 minutes and now have a framework of understanding around the impact I can have, wherever I go: changing spaces.Great real-life stories from the author's experiences on airplanes, sailing the world, working as a life-coach, etc.The author was vulnerable as she shares the grief she went through losing her husband when she was just 47.Also included great resources at the end and good quotes throughout from C.S. lewis, the Bible, she even included a great link to a TED talk by Brene Brown on Vulnerability.I also checked out the author's website after reading and she has a 6 week course she coaches on Becoming a Space Changer, so she seems to specialize in this, and I'm guessing this short book is just the tip of the iceberg.Great read, check it out.

Vegetables are also a good source of vitamins, minerals and nutrition.These fruits and vegetables are essential for our health.They protect us from various types of diseases. Green forests protect us from many natural disasters. Green technologies and science are also very significant for us. We can generate power with the help of renewable energy resources like the ray of sun, force of air, water, biomass, internal heat of the earth and the tidal wave of the ocean. These technologies are called green technologies. They do not pollute our environment during generating power. They contribute us to reduce the emission of carbon. They are very environmentally friendly technologies indeed. Every day, we are damaging the nature of our planet consciously or unconsciously. For example, we are cutting trees randomly for our daily livelihood. Cutting the huge amount of trees can create imbalance of our ecosystem which impacts on human being and animals. But, we are not creating a huge tree plantation as per our requirement. Moreover, we are creating environment pollution directly or indirectly in many ways. For example, air is polluted by emitting carbon from power stations, various types of industries and vehicles which typically use conventional fuel like oil and gas as energy resources. These activities are causing climate change and global warming, which is very horrendous for us and our planet. We are already suffering some terrible changes of the nature for these activities. If these things continue to happen then our planet will turn into a disaster situation in the future. Moreover, natural resources of our planet like oil, gas, coal etc. are very limited which will be finished in the near future. We can save these natural resources by minimizing our dependency on them and maximizing the use of renewable energy resources like sun, wind, water, biomass, geothermal and tidal wave of the ocean. So, we are realizing that the overall control of protecting our planet is in our hands. We can easily destroy our nature, again we can protect and reconstruct it. If we can increase awareness among ourselves, we can easily protect our planet and create a Green Planet for our next generations.

An excellent expansion on the Girls und Panzer series By Theralion The second half of Little Army is a very important chapter in the series, giving context to a great deal about the main series.Much of the volume centers around Miho finding her own way of doing tankery, as she comes to realize that her family's is too ruthless for her to follow. At the same time, however, she has enjoyed tankery itself, having made friends who share her interest in it, and she must somehow find a way to do tankery without adhering to her family's standards. This says a great deal about why she takes to tankery like she does in the original series, although it does put the lie to Miho's assertions in the main series that she is enjoying tankery for the first time. This expands greatly on Miho's story, and she comes off as a very compelling, sympathetic and well-developed protagonist.Maho is also quite nicely developed here, particularly the contrast between her as Miho's sister and as heiress to the family. By the end of it, she turns out to be a very interesting and likable character, and it might have been nice to see more focus on her in the main series, particularly when it's shown how much she cares about her sister, and what sacrifices she is willing to make for Miho.Miho's friend Emi is also an interesting character. She's often overly harsh on others, even when it's detrimental to what she's trying to accomplish at the moment. In spite of that, you can see that her intentions toward Miho are often good, whether getting her to focus and give her all, or to remember what she liked about tankery rather than being focused on what she can't do.The minor characters are also used well. Chihiro and Hitomi are good sources of support for Miho, and it's good to see that the latter has become more committed toward tankery. Kikuyo the maid is an interesting character, bound by her obligations to her mistress and the Nishizumi school but having an almost maternal bond with Miho. Miho's mother, Shiho Nishizumi, is cold and harsh, making her somewhat one-note, but you can see why Miho deviates from her family's style. All in all, the cast is of a somewhat more manageable size than in the main series, and all of the characters come off as better developed as a result.The tank battle is decent for a one-on-one fight. It's what might be expected when the protagonists don't have much experience, and their rivals are arguably significantly below most of the high school students in the main series, but there's a good amount of strategy, and the match is quite suspenseful. The series doesn't end with a climactic battle like the main series, but a nice emotional moment that leads to a critical decision by Miho, resolving the main conflict but leaving things open to further developments.All in all, this is a very well done addition to the Girls und Panzer series that sheds a great deal of light on the characters and the setting. It's mainly recommended for those who are already interested in Girls und Panzer, but can potentially be a good stating point for newcomers

This book offered several great tips in a pocket sized easy to read manual. It's a great gift especially for first time interviewees, such a college students, or those who have not job searched in years and may need to brush up on their interview techniques. My only challenge is that I would have liked to hear more of the author's personal experiences as a support to some of the tips offered. Overall, a simple well written mini manual of great advice.

Whether You Are New to Social Media or an Old Pro - This Gem of a Book is for You By Kristy Schnabel If I had printed this book out and used a highlighter pen, it would be dry. Instead, I read it on my Kindle, and I used the highlight feature so much that nearly every page has some highlighted passages. In other words, this book is chock-full of valuable content.Besides challenging any myths you may have about social media-- and people have plenty-- Laura tells her readers how to relax and be themselves online sharing only what feels comfortable. While telling her audience how to be strategic and thoughtful in their approach, she's also letting them know what not to do to turn people off.What I especially liked about Laura's book, is that she didn't just share her wisdom, but cited trusted industry studies and interviewed social media movers and shakers such as Joe Comm, Andrea Vahl, Melonie Dodaro, and many, many more.If you are new to social media marketing for your business, then you need this book to give you an expert overview to get started in the right way. If you've been around social media for a while, then you need this book to fill in your gaps, learn some new strategies on your existing social media channels, or to expand to newer channels.Laura did more than bust myths and interview experts. She dispels any fear of using social media for business and helps us realize it's all just like how we communicate, and even make friends, in our daily, face-to-face relationships. In fact, using this medium, we get to really think about what we want to say before we "open our mouths". It is a great book filled with valuable information. I highly recommend it.
