Reviews for Treat Climate Change, Save the Earth: How to Prevent Flooding and Drought to Slow Global Warming “We all need to get this book, read it, and then get it into the hands of as many people as possible. This includes big business, small businesses, and most importantly local, state and federal government officials.” “This book takes on a radical attitude towards our current crises, and is real food for thought. It moves away from the blame culture, currently so prevalent within the media, and puts forward an honestly thought out blue print for moving forward and tackling the problem of Climate Change.” “5 stars for the sheer audacity of 1 person trying to solve the biggest environmental challenge we face!” Have you ever been frantic with worry about your family and friends after a hurricane or wildfire destroyed their homes? Have you worried that all that we can seem to do so far is to debate whether climate change exists, whether it's mankind's fault, and whether anything should be done about it? Have you felt despair because while all of this debate continues, you or your family or your friends are standing waist deep in flood waters? Perhaps you're gazing out at your crops which are withering from drought? Perhaps you don’t feel safe drinking the water that comes out of your tap due to nearby fracking projects? This book isn't a debate about climate change The facts described in nearly all of the global warming books takes care of doing that. This book is about realistic solutions that can be implemented globally to treat the symptoms of climate change!
This is about a system that would enable us to act before the tragedies strike. The system I describe in my book can help: -Get flooding and drought under control -Help prevent wildfires -Begin to restore our melting glaciers -Avert sea-level rise -Leverage more accurate weather forecasting, and act before a storm hits -Deliver clean water where it is desperately needed -No longer depend only on underground sources of freshwater, allowing them to replenish themselves -Extend humanitarian aid in a way that will help countries to support themselves instead of being forced to rely on charityWe can build a system that can help with all of these problems, and run it on its own renewable energy!
The system I've devised will take time and resources to build. But it also took time and resources to build pipelines to transport oil from the tar sands. And when those pipelines leak, the oil destroys land, kills wildlife, and cripples the livelihoods of the people living in that area! Wouldn't it be far better to use our resources to support our population and to protect wildlife? Wouldn't it be far better if this system can support itself with its own generated energy, and have the potential to also generate renewable energy for human use? We're already taking steps toward increasing how much we use renewable energy. Now it is time for us to live more in harmony with our planet instead of sucking all of the resources out of it. Ours is a rapidly growing population. Across our entire planet, humanity requires more to support itself. Yet at the same time, we have developed enough that we can begin to support the land that support us!I'm offering a real global solution in less than 100 pages! Ideas, not padding. About the Author Amanda Rothman has been a voracious reader since learning the alphabet, and a rabid writer soon after that. "What is the secret to writing?" she's been asked many a time. "Vocabulary, and the willingness to bend it to one's will and whim," is one of her replies. "But couldn't that make for florid and descriptive prose?" they ask. "Yes," she answers, ironic in the brief answer. "But writing that way for a non-fiction series about treating the symptoms of climate change might make people's heads explode," someone else said. "Hmm. I don't want that to happen," she observed. And so she tried to write in a more conversational, less head-explody way. Reading and Writing has always been Amanda's hobby. Technical Writing is her current career. Balancing these two is quite the tightrope walk. Lean too much in one direction and you'll find yourself plunging head first into a pile of words and writing styles at war with each other, before promptly getting mowed down in the verbal crossfire. If you're interested in watching her wordy tightrope walk regularly, take a stroll over to her blog: Proactive Action!

Dill This book really got my mind spinning. It is exactly the way I feel on the subject. The author put the topic of climate change, floods and drought plainly. She gives plenty of information to back up the position that we need to do something and do something now. If something isn't done now, we will have global catastrophe, although she didn't put it that way. She gives the reader a clear picture of what needs to be done. She suggests that we work as a planet to alleviate the potential for polar ice cap melt off, melting of our glaciers and the flooding of the coast lines. Areas that are flooding have more water than they want and areas of drought don't have enough water. We need to implement the plan to transfer the water, clean it up and get it to the drought areas. We need to be able to allow our fresh water to replenish itself. You need to read this book. Everyone needs to understand the problems we are facing. We all need to get this book, read it, and then get it into the hands of as many people as possible. This includes big business, small businesses, and most importantly local, state and federal government officials. Once you read this book and leave your review, send the link to your State and Federal Representative, your State and Federal Senator, your city council, Mayor, county commission or whatever governing body matches these offices. No matter what country you live in, get it into the hands of everyone in a position of power. I am going to do this as soon as I finish typing. It is important that we work together and get on it quickly. The plan will create jobs, reduce disease, reduce drought, aid in wildfire fighting, and save our coastal cities. In the process, we will develop a large amount of renewable energy. With this plan, everyone wins. I am putting this much stronger than the author, but it is the end result if we do nothing. I feel very strongly on the subject and am in full agreement with the author, Amanda Rothman, that what she suggests must be done. Now, download the book and pass it along.

Nice to see a fresh idea on the table By Shaun Green Book purchased via Amazon.co.uk This book takes on a radical attitude towards our current crises, and is real food for thought. It moves away from the blame culture, currently so prevalent within the media, and puts forward an honestly thought out blue print for moving forward and tackling the problem of Climate Change.Ms Rothman pulls together original ideas, along with current thinking / best practices to offer a way forward for water / energy management, and the interlinking aspects of climate change, into what I feel is a well thought out, well researched and well present project that I believe will make the difference for our children's generation. Not wishing to go down the blame road, we need to remember that it is our generation now that caused most of this mess and it is also our generation with the positions of power, resources and the financial clout that have the ability to fix it, and this book should be taken very seriously as one of the few ideas to be put on the table. The author describes viable plans for water transportation, setting up the infrastructure, goes into great depth on filtration and (the authors idea) of water houses.A lot of thought has gone in to address questions of security (inc. terrorist attack) location of inlet systems and why to place then where advocated (out at sea away from reefs systems etc.). This book is very well thought through. Ms Rothman goes down to the level of soil monitoring and flood management, and early alert systems. Think of an argument not to do it, and the author already has a counter reason and plan for dealing with it.This is a thought provoking and very actionable book. I'd recommend reading it and discussing this openly.

As Amanda Rothman clearly points out, and we are all aware there has been an increase in floods and drouts. Rothman points our attention to some of the causes of this global concern. What she is proposing is a simple idea but not a simple to execute plan. What can we do? As a weather enthusiast and expert, the author points us to the solution and what would be required to execute such a plan on a global scale. Reading this book makes complete sense to me and I have to remind myself that action is required on the part of the reader if a world scale solution such as this is to come about. This solution is now essential. It is time to stop the systems that are exacerbating the problem and move to working toward a global solution. The world is our home and requires some serious action to save it from rapid further damage. It is time to put our resources into saving our planet form further damage. Rothman describes in great detail how such a system would work and the issues and concerns this would present along with her proposed solutions.Every aspect of this proposal has been broken down and potential issues addressed in this comprehensive informative proposal. Illustrated of the planet in terms of the body and body systems is a brilliant analogy that we can all relate to at some level. The solution is not simple but is extremely clever and well thought out. Something on this level is required as soon as possible in order to bring about change on a global scale. This covers a huge area requiring attention and the solution is expertly thought out and proposed in an impressive and thought provoking manner. The more people who read this the better. This will awaken in you a desire to fight for change and solution. It is time.
