0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Short and Sweet By Ingrid G. So, I came across this author recently as I was searching for scifi type books. It turns out that I like pulp fiction. This particular story reads similar to something from Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom series and the like - which is one of the reasons I liked it. It is straightforward and easily to follow in writing style and plot. Nothing too complicated or convoluted about it.Basically three kids come across one of their professor's secrets - he has discovered a new planet and is communicating with it. This planet is located on the other side of the sun from us - and is orbiting right behind us, so it is invisible at all times. There are some scientific theories thrown in to make the story more plausible, but of course the actual science is not valid nowadays. He may not have meant to include real science anyway..so read it as if it were true to help you accept the plot.I don't want to spoil the story, but it has some action and a twist relating to inhabitants of the discovered planet. The ending seems abrupt, but sweet - makes you say "aww."I would have preferred the plot fleshed out a bit more information on the planet, but this was written as a short story. So, you are only given the information needed to move the plot along as quickly as possible.I think this was a pleasant story that is worth a look. But, it can be downloaded for free from mobi books and a few other places. I am going to go search for other stories by this author and see what I find.
