Painful and challenging because I relived every dreadful presentation I have ever had to sit through in my many years. Some of which were my own. In the books opening Sion has done a masterful job of hitting the many flaws people have incorporated into their presentations. He rightfully acknowledges the sorry state of presentations and the opportunity one was to shine as a premier presenter. After Sion's honest assessment of most presentation skills demonstrated today, his book continues in a simple to advanced process of showing one how to create and deliver a presentation that will elevate one not only to a outstanding presenter, but give that person a huge leg up on inviting people into your product and/or service. This is a must read for anyone who does presentations. Sion has provided clear and concise information to build a "knock it out of the park" presentation. The value you will receive far out weights the cost of the book. The only problem I can see with the book is if everyone purchased one, the bar on presentations would be raised to a level that would require Sion to write another book. And that would be a good thing. Do not wait, get the book now, and save your audience from unnecessary painful presentations.

By Adri Miller This fantastic book is all about the power of authentic relationships, connecting with others, and straightforward, honest communication. The conversational and irreverent writing style captures your attention from the very beginning. I fled the 9-5 grind as soon as I could, yet the examples in this book evoked very distinct memories of the few painful presentations and mind-numbing meetings I was forced to sit through. But more than that, this book packs in the proactive solutions rather than dwelling on the negative. It's lessons apply to people far beyond the business world; I run my own tutoring business and work mostly with teenagers, parents and other educators. Basically, I have to explain in 15-30 minutes what teachers fail to teach in a week's worth of classes. One of the author's early statements - "Bad teaching begets bad learning, and if people aren't learning they aren't growing" - summarizes the problems and opportunities I deal with every day. Another awesome thing about this book is that the author "walks the walk": his writing, messaging and presentation models the strategies and skills he is teaching. As you read about creating great presentations, you also experience an example of one! So the message come through on both an explicit and a subliminal level. When I finished the book, I was inspired to reflect on my teaching style, the way I relate to and explain things to students and parents, and even examine some personal relationships to cut through some of the BS and get down to business. I can't recommend this book enough -- you'll come back to it time and again whenever you need a boost!

By ChiCity13 This needs to be required reading for every professional.Like one of the earlier reviewers stated, the introduction made made me cringe because it brought up all of my painful memories from my 9a-12a job as an investment banker. I cannot count how many times I suffered through (and I am ashamed to admit prepared and delivered) those boring presentations Sion warns against in his book. It was considered taboo to have a deck that was less than 25 pages that didn't follow the standard format, because how else would our clients know how smart we were? I knew something was amiss but this was the approach that I was all I knew. Now I have learned that there's a better way!The conversational approach of the book and the entertaining anecdotes had me hooked at the introduction. I actually read it cover to cover in one sitting because I couldn't wait to learn what else I can improve on. I found myself taking notes throughout and began putting some of Sion's suggestion into practice the very next day at work. I know I'm going to be referring to this text for some years to come as I unlearn all of my bad habits! This will be suggested reading to all of my colleagues!
