Nevill Ranjini has both keen insight and a breadth of experience to rely upon, having assisted expats from numerous countries and cultures acclimate to the cultural norms of doing business successfully in India - and what it takes for an executive's families to fit in, feel at home, and integrate as much as one can into the local society. The reality of living in India as an expat and doing business there lies in grasping the significance of how culture (language, religion, food, dance, customs, et cetera) changes every couple hundred kilometers - huge variation and diversity from region to region - differences that one ignores at their own peril and ignorance. I recommend this book as a valuable 'wake-up-call' that also provides some hands-on practical considerations and advice for expats intent on succeeding...and integrating into the wonder that is India.

The two authors have clearly thought through the questio By ranjini Manian I read your book in one sitting. The easy-to-implement application points made it worthwhile to stay up till 1 AM (Mind you, how-to-books usually don't interest me).As a Cross-Cultural Learning facilitator, this book is of great value to me because I can now tell my participants "Look! The CEO of Facebook and President of Ford made that adjustment too and look where they are!" 'The anecdotes make for a fun (like ha-ha-fun) read. My favourite one is Its a Fact by Sherry when she recollects this time when her secretary woke up at 3 AM to go to the temple and pray for her because she was unwell. I intend to use the anecdotes for all of my sessions.
